Want to work alongside me?

Hi, I'm Sadie. I run More Than Admin, and I'm making some room.

(Just typing that feels like a big step, but it's the right one.)

For a while now, More Than Admin has been just me. That's been deliberate. I like knowing each client's business from the inside, and I like being the person who holds the whole picture. But I've reached the point most of my clients eventually reach. I'm holding more than one person can hold well, and the practical work is starting to crowd out the thinking work that only I can do.

I started this business 10 years ago as a traditional VA, helping small businesses and creatives with the stuff they didn't have time for. Over the years my client list has grown to include a real mix of people, all of them providing a service. The work is varied, which I love, but it's still mostly me doing the doing.

Over the last six months that's been changing. I'm moving from being the person who checks the inbox and updates the spreadsheet to being a proper thinking partner for my retainer clients. The bit I love, and the bit they actually pay me for, is easing the mental load of running a business. Looking at the bigger picture, building systems, spotting problems before they happen, and helping people get things out of their heads. That's the In Your Corner work, and it's where I want to spend my time.

Which means I need to make room. I'm looking for someone to take on some of the doing so I can stay in the work that only I can do.

What I need

Someone to work alongside me, not for me. A long-term partnership, not a short-term gig, and definitely not employment.

I've been a VA myself, so I know exactly what it's like when someone treats you like an employee when you're not one. I don't want to be anyone's boss. I just want to work with someone who likes getting on with the work, doesn't need micromanaging, and would rather do the thing than sit in a meeting about the thing.

To start with, it'd be around 5-10 hours a month on one or two clients, while we find our rhythm. Inbox triage, diary juggling, spreadsheet updating, chasing suppliers, scheduling content, sending follow-ups. The sort of work that needs a calm, organised brain, just not my particular one. Organised without being rigid, if that makes sense.

You'd know Google Workspace, Asana, Squarespace and MailerLite really well, and you'd be happy learning new tools or wrangling Outlook and its fiddly setup.

Some days you'd be acting as me, other days working under your own name. You'd be the sort of person who spots a problem before it lands, rather than waiting to be told.

Because you'd sometimes be me, discretion matters more than anything. Whoever I bring in becomes part of how More Than Admin feels to the people I look after. I want someone who treats other people's businesses like they matter and keeps what they see to themselves.

I'm looking for someone who genuinely enjoys this work, not someone using it as a stepping stone to something else. Someone who wants something steady and long-term, not a side gig to fill a gap.

I know VAs set their own rates, and I'm not looking for a discount or the cheapest option. I'll pay the going rate for someone who knows what they're doing.

If this is you, please get in touch!

Drop your details into the form and I'll be in touch to arrange a chat over Zoom.

No fancy CV needed.
